Prof. Dr. Bastian Wibranek is a distinguished professor at Hochschule Darmstadt, holding a role in the Faculty of Architecture with a focus on Digital Planning, Construction + Manufacturing, and Design. As a member of the European Sustainability Science Laboratory - ESSLab+, he seeks to contribute to the field of sustainable architecture.

Prior to his current position, Prof. Dr. Wibranek served as an Assistant Professor for Digital Design and Fabrication at The University of Texas at San Antonio's School of Architecture and Planning. His research primarily revolves around reversible construction techniques, a field in which he has gained considerable recognition.
In 2021, Prof. Dr. Wibranek earned his Doctorate from the Technical University of Darmstadt for his dissertation "Design for Reassembly." His tenure at the Digital Design Unit of the same university since 2015 saw him engage actively in teaching and research, with a particular focus on digital design and robotic assembly strategies for architecture. His expertise also extends to computational design methods and robotic fabrication techniques, which he taught at the ITE at TU Braunschweig from 2012 to 2015.
Prof. Dr. Wibranek's educational credentials include a Master in Advanced Architectural Design from the Städelschule and a Diploma in Architecture from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund. His professional experience is equally impressive, having worked on projects for firms like 2BXL, OSD, and Schneider + Schumacher. He has also collaborated on exhibition design and large-scale sculptures with internationally renowned artists such as Tobias Rehberger and Thomas Bayrle.
